Honda & Hitachi launch electric motor production in China
Both Japanese manufacturers are planning to build EV motors in the People’s Republic. Production kick-off in a new centre in the Province Guangdong is scheduled for 2020.
In summer, Honda and Hitachi founded their joint venture Hitachi Automotive Electric Motor Systems that is based in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Now, the JV is about to expand to China, where it intends to establish a site in order to develop and produce motors for electrified vehicles, Asia Nikkei reports.
