CATL sources special cathode additives from Toyo
Chinese battery maker CATL will use Toyocolor’s Lioaccum conductive carbon nanotube (CNT) dispersions in batteries for electric vehicles from 2024. The dispersions should, among other things, increase energy density. Toyocolor, a subsidiary of the Japanese speciality chemicals company Toyo Ink, also plans to expand production capacity for these CNT dispersions.

CATL invests €3.25 billion in recycling plant in China
The Chinese battery manufacturer CATL has announced investments of up to 23.8 billion yuan (about 3.25 billion euros) in the construction of a large industrial park for the recycling of battery raw materials and their further processing for new batteries.

CALB announces plans for 2 new battery plants in China
Chinese battery manufacturer CALB (China Lithium Battery Technology) has signed contracts with two cities in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong to build new production facilities. The two planned factories in Guangzhou and Jiangmen will each be designed for an annual capacity of 50 GWh.

Xpeng Motors has begun building another electric car plant in China. The Chinese manufacturer intends to expand its production capacities beyond the existing plant in Zhaoqing. The new production facility in Guangzhou is set to go into operation at the end of 2022.

FAW-VW make preparations to produce e-tron in China

Guangdong to electrify bus fleet
