The French group wants each and every of its 40 models to have either an electric or hybrid sibling by 2025. That is what CEO Carlos Tavares just made public. First electrified models are to roll off the lines by 2019.

A few months ago, PSA was still a bit less ambitious, stating that it would seek to electrify 80 percent of its models until 2023. The group’s electrification roadmap sees first newly electrified models to hit the market by next year. Thus, PSA intends to initially launch all-electric versions of its best-selling model, the Peugeot 208, and of its upcoming DS 3 Crossback.

An EV version of the Peugeot 2008 shall follow in 2020. To gain a stronger position in the PHEV market, PSA plans to introduce hybrid versions of the DS 7 Crossback, the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, the Citroen C5 Aircross and Opel’s respectively Vauxhall’s Grandland X, too. The first PHEV compact crossover built on the company’s EMP2 platform will be the above mentioned DS 7 Crossback in 2019.
