In Switzerland a comprehensive H2 fuel station network is supposed to be built by 2023. For this purpose, seven companies, including gas station operators and the wholesalers Coop and Migros, have founded an association.

Currently the alpine republic has only two H2 fuel stations: One is a publicly accessible station at the Hunzenschwil AG in the Aargau Kanton, while the other station, which drivers must previously have registered to use, is located at the Eidgenössische Materialprüfungs- und Forschungsanstalt (Empa) near Zurich.

The founding members of the association are Agrola, Avia Association, Coop and Coop Mineralöl AG, the fenaco Genossenschaft, Migrol and the Migros association. The founders have made it known that other members would be welcome.
