Fortum explores hydrogen at airports with ZeroAvia
Finnish energy company Fortum and the low-carbon flight specialists from ZeroAvia want to explore developing hydrogen production and refuelling infrastructure at airports. The Memorandum of Understanding mentions a network of zero-emission flight routes.

Air Products plans H2 stations in Rotterdam
In the Netherlands, the industrial gas company Air Products is aiming to build a truck hydrogen filling station in the port of Rotterdam in 2023. The facility will be realised in cooperation with Schenk Tanktransport and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO).

ZeroAvia says airports will become hydrogen hubs
ZeroAvia, a company that specialises in hydrogen flights, has announced a new partnership with ZEV Station to develop green hydrogen refuelling infrastructure. The companies will work together on developing a regional airport to showcase the feasibility of hydrogen-powered commercial flights.

Australia co-funds charging and H2 infrastructure
The Australian government has launched the second round of its Future Fuels Fund. The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) will provide $127.9 million to encourage fleet operators to integrate battery and hydrogen vehicles into their fleets by co-financing charging facilities and H2 refuelling stations.

Air Liquide builds EU long-haul H2 infrastructure with Redexis and Iveco
Air Liquide has entered into two collaborations to build hydrogen refuelling stations for heavy-duty, long-haul vehicles. One is with the Spanish gas infrastructure company Redexis and the other with Italian commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco and includes the introduction of heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell trucks.

Russia set to subsidise EV and battery manufacturing
The Russian government is to offer subsidies to manufacturers of electric vehicles and batteries to co-finance the costs associated with the construction of plants and to special investment contracts. Electric cars are also to be allowed to drive free of charge on toll roads from next year on a trial basis.

California Energy Commission invests in H2 stations
The California Energy Commission has approved a plan to invest up to $115 million to significantly increase the number of hydrogen fueling stations in the state. Up to 111 new hydrogen fueling stations will be built in California by 2027, including use by cars, trucks and buses.

Toyota reveals fuel cell truck for power supply

Cause found for fire at H2 refilling station in Norway
The problem that led to an explosion at a hydrogen filling station on 10 June near Oslo was an incorrectly mounted plug in a hydrogen tank in a high-pressure storage tank. Manufacturer Nel made the inquiry public and is establishing precautions.
