CATL begins cooperation with Jiangling
Battery manufacturer CATL has begun a cooperation with Ford-partner and EV manufacturer Jiangling Motors. The duo plans to do research and development on different vehicle models for their cooperation.
The corresponding agreement for strategic cooperation was signed in the middle of last week. CATL has been quite active recently regarding cooperations with Chinese EV manufacturers. Only recently CATL announced two joint ventures with automobile manufacturer GAC. Additionally, CATL and Dongfeng begun operations in their new battery factory in Wuhan at the start of the month.
The fact that CATL will build their first factory outside of China in the German Erfurt is almost old news at this point. The factory will have a capacity of 14 GWh per year, and provide around 600 jobs in the region.
