Aiways receives production license in China
The Chinese electric car startup Aiways has secured a production license in China: Aiways acquires a billion yuan stake in Jiangling Motors Holding, the joint venture previously held 50 per cent each by the Chinese vehicle manufacturers Jiangling Motors and Changan.
Renault Groupe secures presence in China with JMEV
Renault has now officially become the main shareholder in JMEV, the electric car offshoot of the Chinese manufacturer Jiangling Motors Corporation Group. With the acquisition and joint venture, Renault intends to expand its influence on the Chinese electric vehicle market.
Ford’s first EV for China will be a compact SUV
Shortly after announcing their electrification strategy for Europe, Ford has revealed its plans for China. Within the next three years, 30 models of the Ford and Lincoln brands are expected to enter the world’s largest car market but only ten of them are electric cars and plug-in hybrids.
Renault to expand in China with JMEV
Renault intends to acquire a “significant stake” in JMEV, the electric car subsidiary of the Chinese manufacturer Jiangling Motors Corporation Group (JMCG). The transaction is expected to close in the course of next year after review from the relevant authorities.
CATL begins cooperation with Jiangling
Battery manufacturer CATL has begun a cooperation with Ford-partner and EV manufacturer Jiangling Motors. The duo plans to do research and development on different vehicle models for their cooperation.
