The US American company Lightning Systems has announced a new electric motor system for medium weight trucks (Class 6), specifically for Low Cab Forward Trucks with a total weight between 19,501 to 26,000 pounds.
Orders are already being accepted, before deliveries will commence in the fourth quarter of 2018. The first order for 50 units has already been placed by Zeem Solutions, who will be integrating the motor in the above-mentioned Chevrolet 6500XD.
Regarding performance details, the LEV100 possesses a 200 kW performance capacity, and is limited to a top speed of 100 km/h. Nothing was mentioned about the capacity of the liquid cooled lithium-ion battery, apart from that the charging process on a DC CCS charger is completed within 3 hours.
