Chery plans to sell e-SUV in Europe starting 2020

The Chinese automobile manufacturer Chery plans to offer their electric SUV, which was initially presented at the IAA 2017, on the European market starting in 2020, according to CEO Chen Anning.

Furthermore, Chery is planning on opening a research centre in Frankfurt, Germany. “Several hundreds of employees” will be working there, focusing on technology and design.

In China, the Exeed TX has been on sale since June 2018, both as a combustion and PHEV version. In the PHEV version, a 110 kW combustion motor and a 85 kW electric motor are used, bringing system performance to a total 160 kW. Technical details to the planned fully-electric version for the European market have not been released. The price we do know, however, which will stand at 30,000 euros for the BEV.
