In the USA, General Motors is partnering with the three main charging station networks. Namely EVgo, ChargePoint and Greenlots will be providing customers of the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt with access to more than 31,000 charging points.

Real-time charging station data provided by EVgo, ChargePoint and Greenlots will be integrated into the myChevrolet app as part of the cooperation. This will include real-time data on charge station health to report if a charging station is working, offering a one-stop shop for all range and charging data.

GM expects to enable easy enrolment for charging with these networks by creating an app interface for all three networks. This should streamline charger access and potentially allow activation of a charging session using the app instead of a membership card.

General Motors has been strident in its push towards electro mobility. The company was already getting close to their subsidised quota of electric vehicles in August last year, and just a month later, in September last year, the US American company opened a new battery factory for the Bolt model.
