BP Chargemaster continues UK charging station roll out
BP Chargemaster installed four new 150kW rapid chargers at their retail site in Hammersmith, London. Their plan is to furnish their Polar charging network with another 400 ultra-fast-charging units by 2021.
The chargers were powered up this week, following the UK rollout of Polar’s fast-charging network across the nation. The first of the 150kW fast chargers were launched in August, with the first two units installed at the retail site BP Cranford in Hounslow. Charging can be done with both CHAdeMO and CCS connectors, with a full charge possible in about 10-12 minutes of charging time for most EVs.
BP purchased Chargemaster in 2018, including the Polar network. At the time, the network featured 6,500 charging stations in the UK, which have since been supplemented by the roll-out of the ultrafast-charging stations.
