Porsche vs Tesla reloaded

The run between Tesla and Porsche for the fastest lap time on the Nürburgring is entering the next round. Last round, the Tesla Model S Plaid prototypes at the Nürburgring allegedly managed to set a lap time of 7 minutes and 13 seconds.

BMW sends the Mini Cooper to the Nürburgring

BMW is sending their classic Mini to the race track, which may raise some eyebrows, but the German company has a rather unique record in mind: Instead of lap records, this race is an efficiency test: thanks to two-stage recuperation, the electric Mini can circle the Nordschleife without the need for a brake pedal.

Most powerful Tesla powertrain called Plaid

Prius Plug-in Nürburgring lap, Bangalore to London by e-rickshaw.

Video tip: Toyota turned the purpose of the Nürburgring upside down when it sent its Prius on a race to save. On its 20 minute and 59 seconds lap, the plug-in hybrid used only 0,34 l (698 mpg, imperial) while driving mostly electric.

Video tip I: Race driver Robb Holland could hardly hide his disappointment when being faced with “nothing but” a Model S for testing at Nürburgring. Well, he changed his mind rather quickly once on the track…
