Milk & More recently partnered up with Elmtronics, and independent supplier and installer of EV charging equipment. The largest grocery and milk doorstep delivery service in the UK has also rolled out 159 new electric vehicles between June and October this year.

Elmtronics has supplied Milk & More with 80 Dual Smart Charging stations for electric delivery vans while bringing each charging site into operation.

Development manager at Milk & More, Marc Ling said: “We chose to work with Elmtronics as from the initial discussions there was a clear understanding from Elmtronics of the direction of the Milk & More business and our fleet strategy in terms of the large electric vehicle projects we are undertaking.”

Through the process of switching their fleet, Elmtronics provided the domestic delivery giant with support and education to enable staff teams to select the right equipment.

Dan Martin, CEO at Elmtronics, commented: “The Dual Smart Charging Stations we have installed are 7kW Dual Eve units and the charging stations will all be connected to the Hubsta Network – an intelligent network that connects to over 55,000 charge points worldwide.”

For the all-electric LDV EV80 vehicles procured earlier this year the benefits to the air and climate are obvious and the lower running costs common knowledge, but the electric vans also satisfy a very important neighbourhood need: being able to sleep in! As we all know, electric vehicles are beautifully quiet, and many deliveries are already made at 7 am in the morning.

With the 159 new electric vehicles, the Milk & More fleet now totals just over 500 – which apparently makes it the biggest electric fleet in the country and includes over 200 StreetScooters.
