VW ID.3 Pro becomes available in the UK

Volkswagen UK has opened the order books for the VW ID.3 Pro, bringing the electric hatchback’s base price to £28,670, after the £3,000 PiCG. It differs from the introductory Pro Performance version that was among the first opening of orders.

The Pro electric motor option available across the ID.3’s Life, Business and Family specifications, offers about 107 kW power output whereas the Pro Performance version delivers 150 kW (145 vs 204 hp). Despite the different motor output, the range of the ID.3 remains the same, with up to 263 miles available on the ID.3 Life Pro from its 58 kWh (net) battery capacity. The charging performance is also unchanged with VW claiming a recharge to 80% capacity at a 100 kW CCS charger taking 35 minutes.

The ID.3 Pro joins the growing ID.3 line in the UK which now includes ten trims. The ID.3 Tour Pro S that offers only the performance motor set-up is top of the range. Quite literally as it is the only model that offers over 260 miles on one charge with VW specifying 336 miles from a 77 kWh battery. Prices start at £39,290 after subsidies.

Volkswagen also notes that further additions to the ID.3 family will arrive during 2021. These include the smallest Pure model with a 45 kWh battery. Details of these new variants will be released in due course, according to Volkswagen.

The company also recently released the larger VW ID.4 in Britain where buyers may order the electric SUV in the launch variant. The ID.4 1ST Edition comes for £37,800 after the plug-in grant and is expected to arrive in dealerships in March.
