Volkswagen to apply agency sales model to Group brands

Volkswagen ID.3 looking to launch in China this year

Volkswagen partner SAIC is reportedly planning to produce and sell the VW ID.3 in China. According to a Chinese media report, the model will be launched on the Chinese market this year. In addition, there are now more details on the VW ID.6, which is to be launched in China in April.

Saint-Gobain electrifies fleet in the UK & Ireland

VW to launch ID.4 deliveries in March

VW is starting customer deliveries of the ID.4 this month. The first ID.4s will be handed over to customers in many European markets before the end of March. Deliveries in the USA began a few days ago, while Europe will follow with Germany starting on 26 March.

UBS disassembles & analyzes ID.3

UBS analysts have disassembled a VW ID.3 and come to the conclusion that the MEB platform is “fully competitive” with Tesla in terms of cost. VW achieves “first-class energy density, efficiency and scalability”. That being said, when it comes to the battery and its costs, Tesla remains ahead.

Volkswagen to introduce third shift in Zwickau plant

Volkswagen plans to introduce a third shift at its MEB plant in Zwickau from mid-April. This will enable around 1,400 vehicles to be built per day from the summer onwards. Currently production capacity stands around 800 electric cars. Volkswagen Saxony is also getting a new CEO.

VW to launch electric car-sharing WeShare in Hamburg

Serial production of the VW ID.3 kicks off in Germany

VW’s Transparent Factory in Dresden has started series production of the ID.3. This makes it the second production site in Saxony for the electric model after Zwickau. However, the number of units produced at the Dresden MEB plant is manageable.

FAW-Volkswagen begins manufacturing ID.4 in Foshan

In China, Volkswagen has now also started production of the VW ID.4 for the Chinese market in Foshan. After SAIC Volkswagen started production of the ID.4 X at the MEB plant in Anting at the end of October, FAW-Volkswagen is now following suit with the ID.4 Crozz in Foshan.

VW cleans up their advertising

Volkswagen is advertising its ID.3 electric model in six cities in Great Britain with a special campaign. Large murals in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Bristol, and Glasgow were painted using a paint called Airlite, that “eats” pollution found in the ambient air.
