Solaris receives another electric bus order from Poland

In the Polish city of Rybnik, a total of 16 Solaris electric buses will be in service from spring 2022. The order from the local transport company Klosok comprises eleven Urbino 12 electric solo buses and five Urbino 18 electric articulated buses.

According to Solaris, this is the first order for electric buses from Rybnik. Klosok recently received a concession from the Rybnik transport authority to provide transport services in the city for the next ten years.

Both the solo and articulated buses will only be charged in the depot; fast charging along the route is not planned. For this purpose, the Urbino 12 electric will be equipped with a total of 440 kWh batteries, while the five Urbino 18 electric will each receive 500 kWh energy storage units.

According to the contract, the vehicles are to be delivered by the end of March 2022. Whether Solaris will also supply the corresponding charging infrastructure to Klosok is not clear from the announcement.
