EQC turns out not to be waterproof

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 19,253 units of its EQC electric SUV worldwide, 3,073 of them in Germany. The reason is that water ingress into the steering control unit could lead to a failure of the steering power assistance.

According to the German Federal Motor Transport Authority KBA, Mercedes has to check the steering control unit on around 19,000 EQC models worldwide. And this is not the first recall for the still young electric SUV – the KBA already lists a total of eight recalls.
