US prices for Mercedes EQB SUV revealed
Mercedes-Benz USA has announced pricing and packaging structures for the all-electric EQB SUV. The fully electric compact SUV should arrive in US dealerships by summer 2022.
For the USA, Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the 2022 EQB 300 4MATIC will start from $54,500 and the EQB 350 4MATIC is priced from $58,050.
The Mercedes EQB went into serial production in October last year at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét, Hungary. The EQB, which was presented in April, is manufactured there for the world markets – only the China-specific version is built by the joint venture BBAC in Beijing.
The EQB SUV will be offered as a base model along with the option for two trim levels for the U.S. market. The base model comes with two all-wheel-drive variants – as announced for Europe in November last year: The EQB 300 4Matic with 168 kW and the EQB 350 4Matic with 215 kW output. Mercedes-Benz says of the large electric vehicle that it “offers a compelling combination of high versatility, compact SUV proportions, innovative technology and high everyday usability.”
Just for comparison the identical, but ICE, 4Matic GLB starts at $41,200 in the US. $13,300 seems like a steep price bump to go to BEV.
And keep in mind these prices are pre-tax and without license plates. So tack on another 7-15%, depending on state/county, to get on the road costs that Europeans are accustomed them seeing advertised.
the 7-15% tacks on to both ICE GLB
And lets not ignore the 7500 Tax credit (majority of people buying in this category will qualify). The bump isn’t so bad
