You can “ask your Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles partner whether they can offer you a used e-Crafter or an e-Crafter annual vehicle”, the online page says. Volkswagen adds a note: “Only while stocks last!”

As reported, the e-Crafter was last built at the Volkswagen plant in Września, Poland.

Only in May, Volkswagen had presented a conversion solution to an ambulance based on the e-Crafter at the RETTmobil trade fair in Fulda. An e-Crafter panel van was converted into an ambulance together with the company Ambulanz Mobile, which was to be handed over to the rescue service cooperation in Schleswig-Holstein on Helgoland after the event.

The Dutch manufacturer VDL Bus & Coach expanded its minibus and midibus range with the MidEuro Electric for the Dutch and German markets. The fully electric vehicle is based on a Volkswagen e-Crafter and is said to be suitable for shuttle transport.

According to figures from January 2021, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles delivered around 2,700 electric vehicles in 2020, an increase of 167 per cent compared to 2019. Around 1,100 of the 2,700 electric models sold were e-Crafter vans.

Update 21 July 2022

After Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles recently discontinued the possibility of ordering the e-Crafter as a new vehicle in Germany, the identically constructed MAN eTGE e-transporter remains in the range. According to media reports, the MAN eTGE is also available as a box truck, tipper, flatbed and estate. In other countries, the e-Crafter can also still be ordered.

As the logistics portal goes on to write, about 90 per cent of customers have opted for the box van with eleven cubic metres of load volume. The remainder is distributed among the other variants, such as the platform truck or Schoon three-way tipper.
