Mazda has sold out of BEVs in the USA

Mazda has announced that its only electric model, the MX-30, is now sold out in the USA. Only 505 units of the BEV model were sold by the Japanese carmaker within ten months of availability there – and all of them in California.

Mazda did not specify whether the MX-30 will receive a new model year in the US or whether the model is also sold out in other countries. Generally, Mazda’s plans seem to be opaquely described, however, the automobile manufacturer has announced plans to release its own electric vehicle platform by 2025, so this may be part of an effort to clean house before focusing on new projects.

It remains odd that the vehicle was only out for a single year before selling out, and that in such low numbers.
