The small SUV now has a 115 kW electric motor and a 54 kWh battery. Previously, the models were only equipped with 100 kW power and a 50 kWh battery. The range thus increases from 341 to up to 406 kilometres according to the WLTP standard – an increase of almost 20 per cent.

According to the parent company Stellantis, two on-board chargers are available: a 7.4 kW charger (standard) and, as an option, a three-phase charger with 11 kW. The charging times remain the same. Even in models with larger batteries, the EV can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes at a public charger with 100 kW.

The new drive combination is already used in the Peugeot e-208 and DS 3 E-Tense, the Jeep Avenger, and the all-electric Peugeot 308 and 308 SW. Just yesterday, the company announced it would also give the Citroën ë-C4 and ë-C4 X a performance update.

There are also a few changes on the outside. For example, the new edition of the Peugeot 2008 now comes with the unique Peugeot light signature. Specifically, these are the vertical light claws in the front, first introduced on the Peugeot 508. of three superimposed horizontal double slats that make the vehicle look wider.

“With the new 2008, PEUGEOT continues to strengthen its technological and feline identity. One of the key elements of the design work is the staging of the front end, which magnifies the 3-claw signature,” explains Peugeot Design Director Matthias Hossann. “It enhances the robust and muscular style that has made this SUV so successful in all markets and illustrates the move upmarket that the new 2008 is experiencing.”

Among other things, the interior is to be upgraded with a larger screen. It was previously seven and will now be ten inches. The exterior dimensions of the vehicle remain unchanged.

The small SUV, also available with a combustion engine, will be produced at the Vigo plant in Spain. It will be available starting this summer in the usual three variants: Active, Allure and GT.
