Macnab EV Sales has signed a contract with Lightning eMotors to deliver 126 electric vehicles to the Canadian commercial vehicle distributor by the end of 2023.

While there is still some time left on the order, deliveries of Lightning’s ZEV3 vans to Macnab have already begun. The full order of 126 vehicles includes ZEV3 cargo and passenger van configurations and ZEV4 shuttle buses.

The order comes as Lightning eMotors is ramping up production for their electric vehicles. At the end of 2021, the company had secured a battery supply from CATL, as well as signing a supply deal with Proterra. Just weeks later, Lightning announced the completion of its chassis for commercial EVs, followed by a manufacturing deal with General Motors. Most recently, Ikea partner GoBolt had ordered a fleet of 170 zero-emission cargo vans and box trucks to be deployed across North America, as well as the associated charging infrastructure.

“Lightning was a pleasure to work with through our evaluation process,” said Matthew Bannon, president of Macnab EV Sales Corp. “We are confident in our choice and look forward to deploying these vehicles at a variety of locations across Canada.”
