BYD to offer 3 electric cars in France

The Chinese manufacturer BYD is launching five electric cars on the French market. BYD has teamed up with four large dealer networks for sales – and that is just the beginning.

BYD dealers will be supplied with the first vehicles as early as this month, and sales will begin shortly after. BYD wants to open 15 to 20 sales locations nationwide with its partners before the end of this year. The Chinese electric vehicle giant is aiming to have 100 such locations in France.

Although BYD talks about “four major dealer groups”, the manufacturer only mentions three by name: BYmyCAR, Kroely and Bodemer. The former already operates two car dealerships in Paris. Kroely will open locations in Strasbourg, Metz, Nancy and Mulhouse in the third quarter of 2023, while Bodemer will open a location in Rennes for now.

BYD is launching in France with its electric car trio Atto 3, Han and Tang, which are already available in other European markets. The Dolphin will also be available from July and the Seal after the summer. BYD had confirmed that these would come to Europe in mid-April.

The Chinese carmaker already sells its vehicles in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Spain and Portugal. BYD says the three electric cars will also be available in Italy and Hungary, while “further European countries” will follow in 2024.
