Enel X to build charging infrastructure at Penny supermarkets in Romania

Enel X is equipping Penny supermarkets in Romania with charging stations for electric cars. A total of 64 charging stations, each with two connections, will be built at Penny stores, of which 29 stations have already been installed and the remaining 35 are scheduled to go into operation this year.

These are a mixture of AC and DC charging points. At least for the 29 stations already installed, the distribution is known: Eleven charging points are DC chargers with up to 60 kW and two charging points, in addition, 18 AC chargers with two charging points of 22 kW each have been set up.

The Enel X charging network in Romania thus grows to almost 500 charging points at 63 locations in the country. Enel X Way Romania also operates some 150 kW sites. However, no charging points of this power class are apparently to be built as part of the Penny cooperation.

“We continue to expand our e-mobility infrastructure in the context of a growing need from drivers of electric and hybrid vehicles to have such charging points in the vicinity of their residences or places they regularly visit. Partnerships with numerous retailers, such as the most recent with Penny, generate immediate benefits for those who have opted for electric mobility,” says Andrei Mihalciu, manager of Enel X Way Romania, explaining the Penny cooperation.
