Simon Loos puts more eActros on Dutch roads

The eActros 300 electric tractor unit from Daimler Truck is now on the road in the Netherlands for Simon Loos. The first five vehicles were handed over to the food logistics company in June.

The electric tractor units for Simon Loos are part of a small series that will be successively delivered to the first customers before the official start of series production in autumn.

The Dutch logistics company is already familiar with the technology: Simon Loos has already been using seven eActros platform trucks since last year, which supply various customers, supermarkets and catering businesses with food, especially in the Randstad region.

The electric tractor is based on the same technology as the eActros 300/400, which has already been in series production since 2021. Three battery packs, each with 112 kWh of installed battery capacity, enable a range of up to 220 kilometres on one battery charge. The eActros 300 can be charged with up to 160 kW: The three battery packs require just over an hour to be charged from 20 to 80 per cent at a DC fast charging station with 400 amps of charging current.

The eActros 300 tractor unit was presented at the IAA Transportation last autumn and can pull all common European trailers, taking into account the maximum permissible overall towing length.
