Designwerk goes to BeNeLux markets

The Swiss eMobility specialist Designwerk now also offers the complete electric truck portfolio in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg – from dump trucks and low-floor vehicles to heavy-duty transporters.

For the Volvo subsidiary based in Winterthur, the market entry in the Benelux countries means expansion to the north. Customers can choose from 18- to 50-tonne trucks with battery capacities between 375 and 1,000 kilowatt hours, Designwerk says. The Swiss company has been active in Germany since 2021.

“We see a great deal of market potential in the Benelux states for Designwerk e-trucks due to the advanced state of technological development combined with the positive societal and political environment,” says Thomas Rücker, Head of E-truck Sales and Aftersales at Designwerk Technologies AG. “One example: The Netherlands is continuously investing in the energy transition and thus accelerating market developments. The dense and publicly accessible charging station network is one result of these investments.” In the statement, Designwerk also refers to a Forbes study from 2022, according to which Luxembourg and the Netherlands are among the top 10 most EV-friendly countries in the world.

Sales and e-mobility expert Julian Rottier is responsible for the local Benelux expansion. Rottier and his team can draw on the entire portfolio of Designwerk. This includes articulated trucks and car transporters with up to 1,000 kWh, electric refuse collection vehicles or sewer cleaning vehicles and also one-offs such as a milk collection vehicle.
