A total of 40 EV chargers are now available across three of Edinburgh Airport’s car parks. Five chargers were installed at the FastPark valet parking option where passengers can book to have their car plugged in while they are away and return to a fully charged vehicle.

A total of fifteen 22kW chargers with a maximum stay of 24-hours are also available for plug-in in Terminal Parking near the multi-story car park, while 20 7kW chargers are in place in Plane Parking, where there’s no time limit for use.

“We have ambitious plans to reduce emissions as set out in the Zero Carbon pillar of Greater Good, our sustainability strategy, and this is one way we can help drive these down and ensure a sustainable future for the airport,” said Gordon Robertson, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at Edinburgh Airport.

The city of Edinburgh has been ramping up charging infrastructure for some time, for example the charging operator Apcoa opened a charging hub in April. Edinburgh has also seen efforts to set up a charging network in 2019.
