Harley-Davidson opens reservation books for second electric motorcycle

Harley-Davidson is opening reservations in Europe for the second model of its LiveWire electric motorbike subsidiary. The S2 Del Mar can be pre-ordered from 25 October in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK for a fee of 100 euros or 100 pounds.

The retail price for the regular version of the S2 Del Mar in Germany is 18,490 euros. Deliveries in Europe are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2024 – first the Launch Edition, which costs 19,990 euros in Germany according to an earlier announcement, and later in the quarter the regular version.

For the first model LiveWire One (formerly on sale as the ‘Harley-Davidson LiveWire’), the company had opened the European order books in March. At that time, however, it was not yet clear whether the cheaper S2 Del Mar would also come to Europe.

The model was already presented in May 2022 – as the first electric motorbike based on the new S2 Arrow platform. It uses a completely different design than the LiveWire One. With the Arrow platform, the battery housing is used as a load-bearing component, the classic frame is omitted. This should reduce weight and costs. The power output is 60 kW.
