VW ID.7 goes on sale in the UK
The model allows for 175 kW DC charging and has a range of 384 miles (618 kilometres). It features the new APP550 drive unit with 210 kW, as well as “a new 38-centimetre (15-inch) infotainment operating and display concept, complete with freely assignable favourites buttons and – in response to feedback from customers – illuminated sliders to control cabin temperature.”
The EV has been coming off the production line in Emden, Germany, since the summer. It went on pre-sale there in August, shortly after production had kicked off. Prices in Germany start at €56,995.
In the UK, customers who order before 2 January will also receive a free Ohme wall charger, or £750 in charging credit from We Charge by Elli.
Volkswagen debuted the ID.7 in the spring of this year, then positioned the new ID EV as trimmed for range and comfort. In Europe, the Group wants to reform the mighty Passat clientele to driving electric in the ID.7. Simultaneously, the 700-kilometre range announced at the time appeared geared to convince buyers in the US and China.

The ID.7 is a hugely attractive package, offering state-of-the-art technologies that impress through their exclusivity, premium comfort and a really high degree of everyday usability.”
For next year, VW promises an ID.7 variant that allows DC charging at up to 200 kW and has a range of 430 miles – or 692 kilometres. The so-called ID.7 Pro S has an 84-kWh battery. However, the price and the exact launch date have yet to be announced.
