In addition to the pure assembly of battery packs and upstream modules, the production facility announced a year ago will also integrate battery management systems – both for electric car batteries and stationary energy storage systems. The initial annual capacity is 2 GWh and is to be expanded to up to 8 GWh in the future, depending on market demand. This was reported by CN EV News, among others, citing official statements from the operator joint venture NV Gotion.

The plant will go into operation on schedule. A year ago, Chinese media reported that the opening was scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023. It is also known that the first product produced in Thailand will be a battery pack with LFP cells and a capacity of 38 kWh.

The first customer mentioned is the Chinese electric car brand Neta from Hozon Auto, which recently started electric car production in Thailand. Deliveries to Neta are expected to start in the first quarter of 2024.
