Brömlage has been with Farasis Energy since November 2020 and will remain General Manager of Operations at Farasis Energy USA in addition to his new position as Head of Europe.

Conversely, Bergold will leave the company on 31 January 2024 to become Chief Commercial Officer at Vianode, the battery materials subsidiary of Norwegian metal producer Elkem, starting in February.

Farasis points out Brömlage’s automotive experience and expertise; he held various positions at ZF Group for 28 years, including sales and acquisitions.

“In his role as General Manager at Farasis Energy Europe, Marcel Broemlage will actively shape our growth strategy (…). Our goal is to leverage our global Farasis network and take it to the next level,” said Feng Zhang, Vice President of the company’s Overseas Business Unit and Brömlage’s boss.

In its statement, the company emphasises that it would expand its existing business areas and strengthen its position in the non-automotive sector.

Founded in 2002 in California, Farasis Energy positions as a “developer and manufacturer of high-performance lithium-ion battery technology and pouch cells for electric mobility and other sustainable power storage solutions”.

It has research and development centres in China, Germany, and the USA and two production facilities in Ganzhou and Zhenjiang.

Farasis targets an annual capacity of 145 GWh by 2025 with more factories under construction, for example, in Turkey in a joint venture with Togg. The Chinese firm counts the Turkish carmaker, Mercedes-Benz and Geely among their “major strategic partners”.

A few days ago, Farasis presented the Super Pouch Solution (SPS), a battery system with semi-solid pouch cells installed directly in the chassis.
