As Volvo has now announced, the first deliveries of the vehicle to European customers already took place in December. This means that the Swedish company achieved its own goal of delivering the first EX30s in Europe before the end of 2023 – even though the announcement was only made in January.

Volvo expects the EX30 presented in June 2023 to become one of its best-selling models in the coming years – the Swedish company repeatedly made this statement since the model’s debut. The reason for this: The EX30 is not only located in a popular vehicle segment, but is also well positioned competitively as a volume model with prices starting at 36,590 euros.

The EX30 is no longer based on a Volvo platform, but on the SEA from the parent company Geely. This means that the EX30 uses the same drive technology as the Smart #1 or Zeekr X. The basic model for 36,590 euros is equipped with a 49 kWh LFP battery; with the 64 kWh “Extended Range” battery (with NMC chemistry), the model costs 41,790 euros. The 315 kW top model is listed from 48,490 euros.

The electric car model will be built at the Chinese plant in Zhangjiakou and, as reported, will also roll off the production line at the Belgian plant in Ghent from 2025. According to Volvo, this is intended to increase production capacity for the expected demand in Europe and for global exports. However, the Swedes have not communicated specific unit numbers.
