Neta has ambitious plans. According to the latest information, the brand wants to expand to more than 50 countries and export 100,000 vehicles this year, including its hybrid vehicles with range extenders (EREVs) and purely electric models. In January 2023, Neta announced that it would use the skateboard platform from shareholder CATL – although it is not yet known whether this will only be the case in China or all markets.

Neta has now begun building a new factory in Malaysia to increase production capacity. There has yet to be any information on capacity. Neta had already started EV production in Thailand at the end of 2023. The carmaker is currently building another plant outside China in Indonesia. Production there will be launched in the second quarter of 2024.

Neta says it sold more than 20,000 electric cars outside China in 2023, 567 per cent more than the previous year. The 2024 model will drive its international expansion, and the company plans to launch at least four global models.
