The L 507 E is now available from Liebherr sales partners in several European countries. A high-voltage battery system specially developed for wheel loader use is said to enable a running time of up to eight hours – depending on the respective operating conditions. The modular battery concept also makes it possible to install a second lithium-ion battery ex works at the customer’s request, which further increases the running time.

The company says the vehicle that produces zero noise and air pollution to construction sites matches the performance of its conventional wheel loader of the same size class, featuring stereo steering and other familiar advantages of a Liebherr Stereoloader. This is the company’s first electric wheel loader. This is by no means a European market first, Volvo CE has offered electric wheel loaders since 2021.

With another product launch, Liebherr is also presenting a mobile energy storage system for supplying power to construction sites called the Liduro Power Port (LPO). The storage system ensures that hybrid or fully electric construction machines and systems can be operated or charged locally with zero emissions. LPO ensures a constant power output of up to 160 kW and can be charged and discharged at the same time. The unit’s energy and condition monitoring is handled via the local control as well as being possible via a remotely available app for smartphones and tablets. According to Liebherr, the series product will be available in various power ranges in the course of this year.
