In Europe, the Chinese brand has been trying its luck in Norway since the end of 2022. The first deliveries of the Free were made there just over a year ago. The manufacturer is now also active in Israel and Finland. The core markets of Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal will follow in 2024. In Germany, the electric SUV Free was already listed as an EV eligible for the environmental bonus in May 2023 at €64,697.48. However, the market launch was obviously postponed.

According to CEO Lu Fang, both the electric SUV Voyah Free and the electric van Voyah Dream will officially launch in Spain and Portugal this year. In contrast to Germany, France and Italy, these two countries had not been mentioned in connection with expansion plans before.

The Free has a length of 4.90 metres and a wheelbase of 2.96 metres. The European model’s electric drive is likely different from that for Chinese customers. At the launch in Norway, media reported that the electric SUV would be available as a dual-motor version with 360 kW of power, 720 Nm of maximum torque, a 106.7 kWh battery and a WLTP range of 500 kilometres. There are three drive options in China, each with different performance data.

The van Dreamer shares the platform with the Free. It is 5.32 metres long and has been on the market in China since the end of 2021. So far, only details of the version destined for China are known. Both the Free and the Dreamer are also available as plug-in hybrids. Whether both drive types will be offered in Europe is yet to be determined.

Voyah is still a very young brand. The premium offshoot of car manufacturer Dongfeng delivered its first vehicles in China in August 2021.
