Electric vehicle drivers using their vehicles to get to work in Toronto should soon be able to make use of 486 new Level 2 chargers and 40 fast chargers by the end of 2025. This infrastructure is enabled by a $10 million joint investment from the City of Toronto and the Government of Canada.

The new charging infrastructure is meant to make the upcoming expansion of the City’s workplace charging program possible. Some chargers are also planned for general public use.

Julie Dzerowicz, Member of Parliament for Davenport pointed out, “We’re creating economic opportunities and sustainable jobs across the country.” She highlighted the fact that transitioning to electric vehicles not only saves money but also reduces pollution, “contributing to our national targets for zero-emission vehicle sales by 2035.”
