Arval signs charging partnerships with Fastned and Last Mile Solutions

Leasing provider Arval has entered into charging infrastructure partnerships with Fastned and Last Mile Solutions. Last Mile Solutions' expertise in the field of charging management will complement Arval's position in the fleet leasing industry.

Arval’s sustainability strategy aims to have 350,000 battery-powered electric vehicles in its fleet by 2025 and to reduce its CO₂ emissions by 35 per cent to an average of 93 g per vehicle and kilometre. And customers have to charge these electric cars somewhere. The agreement with Last Mile Solutions gives Arval’s customers direct access to a European network of more than 600,000 charging points via a single platform. As part of the collaboration, the partners will work on introducing new technologies, such as vehicle-to-grid, to the fleet market.

According to Fastned’s press release, the Dutch company wants to work with Arval “to offer a market leading charging package. In addition, a practical information package full of EV knowledge will be provided to Arval drivers to help them get on their EV journey with peace of mind,” it says.

“Since its founding in 2012, Fastned’s mission is to accelerate the transition to electric mobility,” says Lieke Duijmelings, Commercial Director at Fastned. “Our ambition with our new partner, Arval, is to actively grow the number of EVs on European roads by offering Arval’s fast-growing electric fleet easy access to our European high-density network and hassle-free charging experience.”

Eric Van Voorden, CEO of Last Mile Solutions, expressed similar sentiments. “We’re truly proud of our collaboration with Arval, a leader ahead in the mobility industry. Our EV charging services will allow Arval to take a unified and pan-European approach to the EV charging network. This partnership also represents our joint commitment to a vision of a cleaner and more sustainable future.”

“Moving forward, while the global charging infrastructure continues to develop, it is necessary for us to provide charging solutions to our customers for their vehicles,” says Bart Beckers, Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer of Arval.

Among other things, Arval is MG Motor’s leasing partner in Germany, BYD’s leasing partner across Europe and Geely’s electric car brand Zeekr also offers various leasing and financing options in Europe via Arval and its parent company BNP Paribas.
