Solaris specifies that each unit now ordered will be able to accommodate up to 103 passengers, around 40 of them seated. Moreover, the transport operator Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe (MZA) opted for the modular drive system, meaning the drive components are mounted on the roof of the vehicle.

The bus manufacturer has a partnership with MZA that goes back to 1997. The first electric bus reached the Polish capital back in 2015. According to Solaris, it has already delivered more than 163 electric buses to MZA.

For example, in March last year, the public transport operator ordered twelve Solaris Urbino 12 Electric buses after placing an order for 12 Solaris Urbino 18 Electric buses at the end of 2023. That order “is nearing completion,” says Solaris, meaning MZA electric fleet will include 224 Solaris electric buses.
