Stellantis starts production of new Fiat E-Ducato Cargo Box
Touted as “the most capable BEV light commercial vehicle”, the Cargo Box sets new benchmarks in Stellantis’ e-mobility strategy for large vans. It sits on the Battery Electric Chassis Cab and is equipped with a 110 kWh battery and 200 kW electric drivetrain, delivering uo to 410 Nm of torque. The range is said to be 323 km.
The Cargo Van is also fitted with a 22 kW AC charging option as standard. This halves charging time to just six hours compared to the previous 11 kW solution, ensuring fleet operators can fully recharge their vehicles overnight. And it offers a cargo volume of 18.3 m³ and up to 20.5 m³.
“The launch of the Cargo Box BEV confirms the path of excellence of this plant dedicated to proactively and quickly meeting the needs of our professional customers,” says Anne Abboud, Head of Stellantis Pro One.
Stellantis brand Fiat Professional first presented the electric Cargo Box at the IAA in 2024. The technical specifications have not changed since the launch. The regular Fiat E-Ducato, which also rolls off the production line at the Atessa plant, was introduced roughly a year earlier at the ‘Stellantis Commercial Vehicles Ambition Day’, when the automotive group presented revised vans from several brands.

Located in Abruzzo, the Atessa facility is Europe’s largest plant dedicated exclusively to large vans, with a production legacy of over 7.5 million units since 1981. It has over 1,200,000 m² of production space, 15 km of assembly lines, and the largest body shop within Stellantis.
Alongside the Cargo Van, the plant has begun building battery-electric versions of its popular recreational vehicles, for which the E-Ducato serves as a base. Stellantis says it holds more than half of the European RV base market share and the new BEV line-up is said to extend this leadership into the zero-emission era.
“Stellantis Pro One has sold over 2 million Campers in the last 20 years, and 75% of the circulating segment is built on a Ducato base,” says Arnaud Leclerc, Global Head of Stellantis CustomFit. “Fit for mission, our motto, could not better summarize what we do, as demonstrated by the BEV version. We are ready to launch a BEV line-up to meet the demands of our most attentive and discerning customers.”
