Stellantis had already unveiled the revised Fiat E-Ducato in October 2023 at its ‘Stellantis Commercial Vehicles Ambition Day’, when the automotive group presented revised vans from several brands. The new E-Ducato is available to order in the UK at prices starting from £45,535 including the PIVG and excluding VAT. And at the IAA Transportation in September, Fiat Professional also presented a variant with a cargo box.

Now that the advertising drum has been beaten vigorously over the past 13 months, production can begin. With the start of production, the company wants to “advance the shift toward sustainable mobility in the LCV sector,” according to an accompanying press release. With the new Fiat E-Ducato, “Fiat Professional is responding to the increasing demand for emission-free vans and positioning itself as a pioneer for electric mobility in the commercial sector,” the company continues.

The E-Ducato was developed to meet the requirements of professional users. With an output of 200 kW, the electric motor is significantly more powerful than its predecessor with just 90 kW. The larger 110 kWh battery increases the WLTP range to up to 424 kilometres. Due to the different bodies and weights, however, the range can vary greatly depending on the variant. However, the DC charging capacity of up to 150 kW is the same for all variants.

According to Fiat Professional, the Ducato is one of the most popular vans in Europe across all drive types and has a market share of 11.2 per cent on the continent. In its home market of Italy, the Ducato is even the undisputed leader with 24 per cent. However, the Ducato is even more successful in the motorhome segment: in 2024 to date, 70 per cent of motorhomes registered in Europe were based on the Fiat Ducato.

Fiat Ducato 3 litre diesel on our Tracker Autotrail is brilliant coupled to the “manual auto”. An electric version will be a great move. Our Ioniq 5 Ltd AWD fully electric after near 3 years is also a really great SUV. Not cheap but costs little to run with home charging free, from 9:00pm -12 midnight daily.

All electric vans will suffer from Range issues ie you need at least 500. Miles on a charge making them far to expensive to buy the diesel works out cheaper much cheaper to run if your have to pay top whack for a kWh at a fast charging station
