Hyundai presents new Ioniq 6 N

Hyundai presented the new Ioniq 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England. This marks Hyundai's second high-performance EV following the Ioniq 5.

In terms of technical specifications, the performance offshoot of the Ioniq 6 offers an output of 478 kW and 770 Nm of torque (with N Grin Boost), achieves acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 257 kph.

According to Hyundai, the biggest technical advancements between the predecessor Ioniq 5 and the new Ioniq 6 “include fully redesigned suspension geometry, an improved N e-Shift (virtual gear shift) system that minimizes performance loss.” The company also lauds the improved sound quality “through updated hardware and extensive acoustic fine-tuning.”

The battery management system was also revamped, and called the ‘N Battery’. Hyundai writes of optimal temperature management, which allows the system adapts to a range of track driving scenarios , including drag, sprint or endurance racing. Battery conditioning functions also provide higher and long-lasting performance.
