Standab plans cross-brand charging network for electric scooters and more

The Stockholm-based company Standab has raised €3.6 million in a new funding round to build a cross-brand, public charging network for e-bikes and e-scooters across Europe. Within a year, Standab aims to expand its parking and charging stations to 15 European cities.

Standab sees the development of a parking and charging network for micromobility applications as its core business. The Swedes have developed and patented a charging station called “Marma”, which they say is “compatible with more than 85% of existing scooter and e-bike fleets.” The solution resembles a robust bike stand with an integrated charging function. It can charge primarily scooters and bikes, but also “and other light EVs,” the company adds. Standab names vehicle operators as its network partners—explicitly mentioning companies such as Dott and Tier—and also cooperates with cities and public transport providers to implement its Charging-as-a-Service model.

In the latest financing round, Standab raised €3.6 million. The main investors were Spintop Ventures and Almi Invest GreenTech. The Stockholm-based company says it will use the funds to scale operations, expand into 15 European cities by the second half of 2026, and strengthen partnerships with micromobility operators.

The idea of a cross-brand parking and charging network for e-bikes, e-scooters, and other light EVs competes with the battery-swap approach commonly used by operators: when a vehicle’s charge runs low, it is collected by a transporter and the battery is swapped. Some operators also pick up vehicles to charge them at private stations. Standab calls these “inconsistent charging practices have led to operational inefficiencies, high costs, and street clutter.”

Standab aims to offer an alternative or complement with automated charging at a central parking location. “In pilots, Standab has shown a 50% reduction in charging costs, 45% higher fleet availability, and up to 55% fewer swap tasks, while cities benefit from decluttered streets and free infrastructure,” the company says.

Marcus Adolfsson, co-founder and CEO of Standab, adds: “Cities and operators alike are calling for smarter ways to integrate micromobility into the urban landscape. Our universal charging solution solves operational inefficiencies while reducing emissions and creating cleaner streets. With this funding, we can accelerate our roll-out and work towards making Standab the European standard for micromobility charging.”
