From €67,500: Alpine reveals prices for the A390

Ahead of the official order start on 21 November, Alpine has announced the prices of its new flagship model, the A390. Positioned in the mid-size segment, the electric crossover delivers the highest performance of any vehicle built on this platform.

With the A390, the French sports car manufacturer Alpine is entering completely new territory. Since its founding seventy years ago, the brand has specialised in sporty two-seaters based on Renault technology. However, as electrification progresses, more dynamic everyday models are carrying the emblem with the stylised “A”. Last year, the A290, the performance version of the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, made its debut. Now, the Dieppe-based brand is following it up with the all-electric A390 crossover, with which Alpine aims to open up an entirely new market segment.

After unveiling the mid-size model at the end of May, Alpine has now released the pricing. The base version, the A390 GT, starts at €67,500, while the provisional range-topping GTS variant will be available from early 2026 for at least €78,000. Official pre-orders open on 7 November, initially only for customers holding the Alpine A390 Première Pass, which includes several exclusive items, such as headphones from the French audio specialist Devialet. From 21 November, the model will be available to all customers. The first examples are expected to arrive in German Alpine showrooms before the end of the year, with deliveries to customers starting in the first quarter of 2026.

The A390 shares its platform with the Nissan Leaf

Despite its electric drivetrain and crossover body style, the Alpine A390 is designed to embody the DNA of the brand icon, the A110. Indeed, the front end, fastback roofline and tail lights all show clear design references to the legendary “Berlinette”. At 4.62 metres long, the newest member of Alpine’s electric “Dream Garage” family enters the mid-size segment, competing against established rivals such as the Porsche Macan Electric or, in a lower price range, the Cupra Tavascan. As it is effectively a raised fastback rather than a traditional SUV, it may also appeal to customers considering the BMW i4.

The A390 is based on the AmpR Medium platform, which it shares with the Renault Scénic E-Tech Electric and the new Nissan Leaf. Even the base version uses three electric motors, delivering a combined output of 295 kW in the A390 GT. With 661 Nm of torque, the 2.1-tonne crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 4.8 seconds and is electronically limited to 200 kph.

Up to 555 kilometres of WLTP range

The GTS version raises performance further, producing 345 kW and 824 Nm of torque. It reaches 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and is electronically limited to 220 kph. Both versions use an 89 kWh NMC battery pack mounted in the floor, which provides a WLTP range of up to 555 kilometres for the A390 GT on 20-inch wheels, and up to 515 kilometres for the higher-performance GTS version with 21-inch rims.

Alpine quotes a maximum DC charging capacity of 150 kW for the base model, allowing the battery to be charged from 15 to 80 per cent in 29 minutes. In the A390 GTS, the charging curve peaks at 190 kW, cutting the same process by four minutes. A heat pump is fitted as standard, while 22 kW AC charging costs an additional €1,200. Alpine also charges €400 extra for the Vehicle-to-Load adapter that allows external electrical devices to be powered from the car.
