Smatrics EnBW opens two charging parks in Northern Italy
Smatrics EnBW is expanding its fast-charging network beyond Austria and entering the Italian market. The company has opened a new charging site in Trezzo sull’Adda on the A4 Turin–Trieste motorway, a key corridor connecting the greater Milan area and Lake Garda.
A second charging park is located in Gruaro at the junction of the A4 Turin–Trieste and A28 Portogruaro–Conegliano motorways. From Austria, Trezzo sull’Adda is around four hours from Innsbruck, while Gruaro can be reached from Villach in approximately two hours.
Both locations are equipped with Alpitronic high-power chargers and offer on-site amenities, including refreshment facilities and digital display boards showing daily updated ad-hoc pricing. The sites also feature accessible charging bays.
In total, 16 partially covered charging points provide up to 400 kW of charging capacity. The Gruaro site additionally includes a dedicated bay for vehicles with trailers or caravans. Smatrics EnBW states: “The charging parks are designed so that additional charging points can be easily added in the future if required.”
“E-mobility does not stop at national borders. The new charging parks in Trezzo sull’Adda and Gruaro consolidate SMATRICS EnBW’s existing network in northern Italy and represent yet another milestone for sustainable, cross-border mobility,” said CEO Thomas Landsbek. These charging parks are essential for commuter and long-distance travel between Austria, Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland.
