H2 Mobility to increase hydrogen refuelling network

In Germany, the government-funded hydrogen filling station operator H2 Mobility has received an investment of 110 million euros to enable its next phase of growth. The primary investor is the French finance company Hy24. The expansion goals are accompanied by a focus on hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles of all sizes.

Victoria supports H2 transport infrastructure pilots

In the Australian state of Victoria, the government has backed studies and trials for the use of green hydrogen (made from renewables) for use in heavy transport. The funding of 7 million Australian dollars (4.43 million euros) should help support refuelling stations and the development of fuel cell electric buses among other things.

Hy24 founded for H2 infrastructure investment

Ardian and FiveT Hydrogen have announced the beginning of Hy24, “the world’s largest investment platform focused exclusively on clean hydrogen infrastructure”. Hy24’s first fund is expected to have a volume of 1.5 billion euros.

Airbus forges ahead with zero-emission aviation

Airbus has just unveiled concrete plans for zero-emission aviation with a new generation of the battery-electric CityAirbus. Meanwhile, the aircraft manufacturer has signed an MoU with Air New Zealand to research hydrogen-fuelled aircraft, while in Europe Airbus will focus on hydrogen aviation infrastructure with Air Liquide and airport operator Vinci by 2030.

California looks at fuel cell trucking requirements

The Californian Fuel Cell Partnership (CaFCP), a coalition of government and multinational industry partners, have released a new foundational document for heavy-duty class 8 fuel cell electric trucks. The policy recommendation envisages 70,000 trucks supported by 200 heavy-duty truck stations by 2035.

Hytrucks to deploy 1000 H2 trucks by 2025

A consortium called HyTrucks has been formed by Hyzon Motors, Air Liquide and DATS 24 along with the ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp and Duisburg. Hytrucks has pledged to deploy 1,000 H2 trucks and 25 H2 refuelling stations by 2025.

Total joins HysetCo’s fuel cell joint venture in Paris

Total is buying a 20 per cent stake in HysetCo, a joint venture focused on hydrogen mobility in the Paris region. The joint venture owns a fleet of around 700 taxis, the majority of which are still diesel vehicles, but will be gradually converted to hydrogen vehicles by 2024.

Great Wall Motor to launch hydrogen SUV & truck

Great Wall Motor has announced that it will launch its first hydrogen-powered SUV model and 100 FC heavy-duty trucks in 2021. GWM also plans to contribute a hydrogen-powered passenger car fleet to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

HysetCo moves to run 600 hydrogen cabs in Paris

Paris will eventually see 600 fuel cell taxis. The long-running project HysetCo just acquired the cab operator Slota and plans to replace its 600-vehicle diesel fleet with the Toyota Mirai gradually. They also want to install two new hydrogen filling stations this year.

Air Liquide, Idex, Société du Taxi Électrique Parisien (STEP) and Toyota have launched a joint venture called HysetCo to develop hydrogen mobility in the Paris region. It will also serve Hype, the fleet of fuel cell taxis, launched in 2015 during the COP21 and operated in Paris.

Air Liquide buys 18.6% stake in Hydrogenics

French gas company Air Liquide has purchased a “strategic investment” of 18.6% in the Canadian Hydrogenics Corporation, who develops electrolytic hydrogen production equipment and fuel cells. The $20.5 million investment also includes provisions for a cooperation on PEM electrolysis technology.

Paris: H2 taxi fleet grows to 100 vehicles

The Société du Taxi Electrique Parisien (STEP) in Paris has expanded their fuel cell vehicle fleet with another 25 Toyota Mirai to total 100 FCEVs. By the end of 2020, the expansion of the Hype fleet is planned to total 600 vehicles.

Innogy chargers in California? Following its IPO, RWE subsidiary Innogy is looking to in invest in the U.S. Next to solar and wind energy, the company is also focusing on charging infrastructure there. Innogy CEO Peter Terium told German Welt am Sonntag that they were “able to convince the California regulating authority to adapt German standards and norms for EV charging infrastructure.”

Electric patrol: 44 electric cars have joined the police force in Saxonia and not all of them are of German built. The fleet consists of 15 Renault Zoe, 24 Mercedes B-series ED, and 5 Renault Kangoo ZE vans. They will serve in the federal states’ five largest cities like Dresden and Leipzig and shall get one charging station each. The first has gone up in Dresden already with another 43 to follow by September. The EVs make for an 1.6 percent electric share in the Saxonian police fleet.
