Florida: PSTA acquires 60 all-electric buses from Gillig

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA), which provides public transportation for Pinellas Country in Florida, announced the purchase of 60 electric buses over the next five years. Gillig to use Akasol batteries for electric buses

The North American bus manufacturer Gillig will use battery systems from the German supplier Akasol in its electric buses. This includes configurations with 490 kWh, 588 kWh or 686 kWh capacity from 2023, depending on customer requirements.

Gillig scores order for 44 electric buses for Utah

In the USA, the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and Park City Transit have awarded American bus manufacturer Gillig a $44.2 million contract for 44 battery-electric buses, with an option of 95 additional buses over five years. The contract includes 16 plug-in charging systems and four high-power on-route chargers.

Canada: Gillig presents first electric bus

Gillig, the second largest bus manufacturer in North America after New Flyer, has introduced a fully electric bus. The 12-meter vehicle is equipped with an electric drive from Cummins and offers a battery capacity of 444 kWh.
