Hyundai is cooking a supercar – possibly hybrid

Hyundai wants to build a high performance sports car that will be electrified strongly, if not fully. Speaking at the CES in Vegas, executives placed the new model under the luxury label Genesis, which is to become increasingly electric from 2019.

Kia unveils prototype of its Niro EV

Kia’s has put a prototype of its all-electric Niro on display in Las Vegas. The model’s 150 kW serial version shall hit the stores before the year’s end. According to the carmaker, it comes with a 64 kWh battery pack and reaches up to 382 km.

Hyundai presents next-gen fuel cell SUV called Nexo

In the spotlights of the CES, Hyundai has taken the wraps off its second-generation fuel cell SUV and revealed that it is going to be called Nexo. The carmaker also published further tech specs, thus the model’s range will be 500 miles (800 km) according to NEFZ.

Ujet’s first foldable electric scooter debuts with 43 kilos (video)

Luxembourg-based Ujet debuts its first electric scooter at the CES in Vegas and aims at design conscious city dwellers. Launch is set for early 2018 in Europe followed by the U.S. and Asia later this year. Clever integration of the battery and foldability got their price though – $8,900 to start with.

Ahead of its debut at CES, EV brand Byton has published photos of its upcoming electric-powered SUV, showing among others the cockpit. Byton is a brand of Future Mobility, a Chinese start-up supported by Foxconn and Tencent and led by former BMW i manager Carsten Breitfeld.
