Daimler tests e-semi-trailers and trucks in North America
Daimler Trucks is launching another eight fully-electric Freightliner trucks for customer testing in North America. Over a period of 22 months, 14 different customers from a range of sectors will operate six heavy-duty Freightliner eCascadia and two medium-duty Freightliner eM2 106 within their daily transport business.
First pre-series eCascadia models delivered
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has delivered the first units of its battery-electric Freightliner eCascadia truck to customers. However, these are test vehicles and series production is not scheduled to start until 2021.
Daimler delivers first fully electric freightliner eM2
With the delivery of the first all-electric Freightliner eM2 to Penske Truck Leasing, Daimler Trucks has now also launched practical tests for heavy and medium-heavy electric trucks in the USA. In future, Penske Truck Leasing will use the electric truck in local distribution traffic in the northwest of the USA and in California.
USA: Daimler Trucks preparing real-life trials in fleets
The two all-electric trucks Daimler dedicated to the U.S. market are about to take up real-life testing at selected clients based in California and the Pacific North West. In preparation of production in 2021, Daimler also installed the Electric Vehicle Council to share their insights from the trials.
