Tier Mobility to discontinue e-moped sharing services
In Europe, after the micromobility provider Tier Mobility acquired approximately 5,000 electric scooters, including the charging infrastructure of the former Coup sharing service from Bosch, in February 2020, Tier is now going to phase out these vehicles.
Teenagers hack GO Sharing scooters
In Brussels, almost all GO Sharing electric were recently stolen by young people who had figured out how to circumvent the rental system. According to the Brussels Times, the thieves even offered crash courses for their method online, stole the electric scooters for joyrides and drove until the battery was empty.
Cityscoot concludes successful funding round to expand
Cityscoot has concluded a financing round for 23.6 million euros. With the capital increase, the French electric scooter sharing provider wants to expand into two more European cities this year and increase its fleet to a total of over 8,000 electric scooters.
Gogoro presents electric scooter sharing platform
The Taiwanese electric scooter manufacturer Gogoro has created its own sharing platform, GoShare, for renting electric scooters with exchangeable batteries. GoShare will initially start in the Northwestern Taiwanese district of Taoyuan with around 1,000 electric scooters in August.
