France: Carmakers agree to supplement eMobility
The French government and major carmakers have agreed to subsidise the switch from fossil fuel powered cars to electric vehicles. The manufacturers will thus supplement France’s scrappage scheme so that it can be raised and extended in 2019.

Suzuki & Mitsubishi quit selling diesel cars in Europe
With Suzuki and Mitsubishi two more carmakers from Japan discontinue their diesel lineup in Europe. Suzuki say they will stop selling diesel on the continent before the year’s end. Mitsubishi considers doing the same but starting in key markets such as UK and Germany and possibly France.

Cadillac to focus on electrification instead of diesel
GM’s Cadillac announced they have put their diesel development on hold as the market appears to be “changing more quickly than we anticipated,” said new Cadillac President Steve Carlisle. Their focus is on electrified drive trains.

Scotland: Ever more money to switch to electric cars
The Scottish government has increased funding to programmes that bring them closer to their goal to finish all sales of combustion engine vehicles by 2032. Hence the budget for the Low Carbon Transport Loan has risen from £8m to £20m for 2018/19 with new schemes being introduced.
